Upgrading and transference of tools for HC and HNS detection, forecasting & risk analysis
Objective:
Activity 3 aims to improve end user’ expertise on using integrated applications of forecasting and tracking spills by: organising field exercises with the involvement of regional stakeholders; adapting to regional needs the dynamic risk tool developed in ARCOPOL to estimate risk of pollution accidents and coastline impacts; developing and implementing HNS trajectory, fate and behaviour modelling systems for specific substances on a free / open-source modelling system; developing sensors and new hardware and exploring the use of innovative technologies such as UAV and AUV for detection and monitoring of HNS.

Actions:
3.1. Comprehensive training of regional and local authorities:
 - 3.1.1. State of the art in training exercises in the Atlantic area.
 - 3.1.2. General training scheme and exercises involving local actors.
 - 3.1.3. Guides for training exercises.
3.2. Adaptation of Dynamic Risk Analysis to different regional needs:
 - 3.2.1. Dynamic Risk Analysis at regional level.
 - 3.2.2. Implementation methodology for dynamic risk analysis.
3.3. Development and implementation of HNS modelling systems for specific substances.
 - 3.3.1. HNS model implementation.
 - 3.3.2. HNS model manuals.
3.4. Investigation of the role of tablets, UAVs and AUVs for the observation of HNS spill locations:
 - 3.4.1. Review of capabilities.
 - 3.4.2. Integration of zenital pictures into GIS.
 - 3.4.3. Use of rapidly adapted sensors for HNS spills monitoring.
 - 3.4.4. Use of tablet PCs for field monitoring.
3.5. Development and integration of modelling systems for the Andalusia region in the response chain as support tools.
