3rd Cross-Channel Forum. Southampton. UK
Dates:  20/09/2012
This event is organised under the umbrella of CAMIS project.

CAMIS was launched in October 2009 with the support of the Interreg IVA France (Channel) – England European programme. It brings together 19 British and French partners with the aim to develop an “Integrated Maritime Strategy” for the Channel area and foster concrete co-operation actions.

The “Cross-Channel Forum” is intended to be a platform for expression and exchange between British and French sea and coastal stakeholders who have an interest in the future use and governance of the Channel area (representatives from national governments, local authorities and European institutions and stakeholders from sectors such as maritime economy, innovation and research, higher education and environment).

This Forum aims to test a new approach based on dialogue and shared governance at the Channel scale but also to involve a wide range of stakeholders and organisations in the on-going development of the “Integrated Maritime Strategy” for the Channel.

The 3rd Cross-Channel Forum will include:

· Expert presentations on the main challenges and opportunities in the Channel area and on the strategic objectives stated in the “Integrated Maritime Strategy” for the Channel;

· A series of workshops aiming to maximise discussion and gather information from attendees on concrete actions to be implemented in order to achieve these objectives.

The full agenda and further details will be distributed during July.
